Hi Everyone,

I've been doing some research on my gerbil's genetics.

I have been looking at various website looking for the basic gene code for
my red fox. I'm finding two different combinations and I'm wondering which
is more correct?

This is what I'm finding:
aa CC ee G- pp
aa C- ee G- pp

I have my red fox male paired up with a spotted lilac female (aa CC E- G-
pp).

The only colors that this pair has produced is red fox and lilac.

I've been using the gerbil gene predictor, but what should I enter for the
red fox male? CC or C- ?

My purpose of doing this is to try and determine the genes of the red fox
and lilac pups produced from this pair. So far I'm not having any luck. I
can't get the pups narrowed down any more than the parents.

The breeding pair are both pet shop gerbils so I have no idea of their
siblings or parents. They were bought from different stores so I know they
are not related unless the two stores had the same supplier.
