My $.02 for those who care...
Yes the photo was annoying (altho I love seeing any gerbil photos; I just
mean the fact that it was sent to the list, the photo by itself was just fine
=), and I realize some do have to pay for their 'net downloads. So perhaps
the original poster (don't even recall who it was!) should apologize, and
(hopefully) never do it again, but there's no reason to read her the riot
act.
As someone who runs their own website I can associate with Bill's frustration
over people asking the same questions over and over again, especially when
that info can be found right there on the site (or on the GML charter or
gerbil FAQ in the list's case). But still I usually just point out calmly
where that info can be found and tell them if they have additional questions
or that doesn't address what they meant they can email me back. Some people
are excited or in a hurry and don't bother to check everywhere. It happens.
