Right about the time they deliver, yes. Sometimes the
male will start mating behavior before she starts having
the pups, and she will often 'remind' him with her teeth
to lay off.
And as she has the pups and right after, he will often
be right there, often chasing her around and it seems
they have no regard for the pups, him chasing her and
her trying to get that bother to leave her be (!) and finally
they settle down and take care of the pups....and she
will have another litter around five weeks later, about the
time the litter underfoot is able to function on their own
and be taken away (usually wait until six unless the parents
try to drive the older litter off)
