This evening I was out and about and scored a male the exact same color as my 'mystery female' that I've posted about. The color might very well be dove, but they are just too brownish in tone. And just as Princess and Boyd are settling down, too. Tomorrow I am going to put Boyd into a split cage, with a black pied female I have...and hope that Princess and Prince (the new fellow) will adjust in another split cage. I am still cruising sites, and looking at pictures. I'm still looking for good pictures of: Dove (likely suspect) Sapphire, Lilac (especially a Dove and Lilac together) The other choice might be a light colorpoint with a diluting gene over the top....so I am looking around for lots of pictures of really light ones of those. Prince, the new male, is around 8-10 weeks old (older than Boyd and comparable to Princess) and showing traces of his pre-moult color. (old pre-moult fur exactly matches the 'color swatch match' I did of Princess with DMC embroidery floss) Boyd by contrast, is grey. He makes Princess and Prince both look tan-brown (ashy not blue or orange or red or yellow) and a lot lighter. Boyd may actually be a Dove.... Anyway, if anyone can help me out by forwarding more links to look at pictures, I'd appreciate it. Deb Rebel's Rodent Ranch
