These are my general, anecdotal observations regarding weight/size...
1. males living alone or in a group of males tend to get chunky with age
2. males in actively breeding pairs tend to be slim
3. males in retired breeding pairs often gain weight (may have to do with age).
Most females stay slim when older but I do have one who is about as hefty as her
mate. (I think this may be a genetic predisposition tho--their father was also
rather large)
4. The dominant male in a male group will be large (I have a group of 6 boys;
one is DEFINITELY chunkier than the others... I am, anyway, ASSUMING he's the
dominant one--could be he's just plain fat; but they are all brothers...)
5. Females kept in groups tend to stay fit.
However there are excetions to all these... for example I did have two girls in
a pair that got chubby.
