Don't know if anyone got my message since no one responded, so here it is again.

When 2 gerbil brothers (lifetime partners) were about 1 1/2 years old they started
fighting for no apparent reason. Now my 2 girls have hit the 1 1/2 year mark and have
recently been spatting quite a bit (no actual fighting) - mostly posturing and pushing
against each other when sniffing mouths or butts. I have also noticed one of my girls
has very recently taken to vigorous bar-chewing at the top of their cage. What's
going on? Is there anything I can do to mitigate the tension between these two? I am
afraid of coming home and finding one of them injured. Is there a possibility that
things will even out? I really do not want to split them and have to find them each a
new cagemate since that would mean I'd have to give one of the new pairs up (I have
too many gerbils). Advice?

Molly
