Just wanted to let everyone know that Quieks (the older male) and the two youngsters we were trying to introduce are happily sharing a cage now :) We gave it a second try 5 days ago and everything worked out fine this time. Now we have another intro going for our second lonely male. He got into a fight with his two brothers a month ago, after being together for over a year. We are also trying to give him two young males as compagnions. They've been in a split cage for 3 days now and this morning we discovered that one of the babies had gnawed a hole into the screen of the tank lid and gotten out. We searched everywhere, but didn't see any sign of him for several hours. We were afraid he had gotten outside when my husband left for work this morning. Luckily about an hour ago I saw him run under the couch and my daughter caught him. He's back with his brother now and we are very happy and relieved! This brings our gerbil numbers up to 22 in 10 tanks. I never thought we'd have room for this many, but it seems to work out just fine. We even have nice neighbors who take care of them all, when we are gone for more than 2 days. Susanne
