It surprised me, today I was observing Bud and Lady's litter
of five, (they're 4 weeks old Tuesday) and one of the little
agouti two had an alfalfa pellet and was chowing down on
that. I sprinkled some feed in right next to him, including
peanuts and sunseeds, and she shook the few bits of millet
off herself and picked up her pellet of alfalfa and continued
to chow down on that.
My hamsters mostly ignore the stuff..so it was really surprising!
[Also had Boyd manage to pop the access lid in the Jumbo
Kritter Keeper he and Cindy live in, and he was thumping in
the back corner of the family room just a few minutes ago.
I cornered him and picked him up by base of tail, then transferred
him to hand carry (on palm of one hand and the other a 'cage'
to prevent him from airmailing himself) and took him back to
Cindy who was glad to see him. I heard him trying to brain
himself a few minutes later on the now very firmly latched
hatch thingy.....]
Sigh.
