Ok, things have gotten a little crazy in our house. To many of you, 8
gerbils would sound like nothing, but this number represents a doubling
in our gerbil population since last month!
First Barley died. . . then we got Sparky to be a new pal for Pippin,
Barley's cagemate. Then I got the trio of female pups from Evon. Then
Pippin and Sparky didn't get along (two failed intros), so we had two
loners. Since Pippin seemed content to be alone, we decided to get
Sparky a pal and leave Pippin by himself.
Sparky's pal joined us yesterday! He is (I think) a dove pied and is
very friendly. I think he's in the 6-8 week range; he came from
PetsMart. Michael had an adventure bringing him home last night. The
new gerb chewed his way out of the take-home box and got loose in the
car! Michael didn't even know it until he picked up the box and it
seemed too light. It took a little while, but we caught him, and he was
fine.
Our two newest boys are in the split cage now. I hope this intro works!
