Well, it's been awhile, but I'm still here. I've been busy lately or something... (I
can't really remember.) At any rate, I figured it was about time for an update.
Reggie and Smokey's first litter was born August 19 and consisted of five pups.
Unfortunately, one pup died August 22 (my birthday, of all days!) from reasons that
remain elusive. The remaining four, two pied agoutis and two pied blacks, are doing
fine. They're all males, too.
Their second litter (four pups) was born Sept. 24. So far none have died and I
believe one is a pied agouti and another is a pied black. For now, I'll say the other
two are black. I might possibly consider selling these four. If anyone is
interested, e-mail me. I live in West Tennessee...
Creampuff and Jellybean have yet to produce offspring. Kevin jokingly thinks Puff's
sterile. And speaking of Puff, he underwent a strange transformation and molted into
a mystery color (well, mysterious to me, anyway). I thought the bugger was a PEW, but
then he got orange splotches and his tail got a bit darker. Someone tell me what he
is...please? (I've tried figuring it out and I can't...)
In the increasing trend of old roomies fighting for no reason, Martin and Oreo had a
spat about a week ago. Imagine my horror when Kevin told me to look at Martin...and I
did...and I saw a red gerbil instead of an orange one... :o( He couldn't believe it
either. Anyway, I doctored Martin and Oreo as best I could, took 'em to a vet, and
fortunately they're all okay. Oreo and Chip-Chip are now living together. Martin's
made friends with Smokey and Reggie's first litter. He's like an uncle to them, I
guess. And Winston and Eddie (these two used to live with Oreo, Chip-Chip, and
Martin) remain together.
I know this was a long(-winded) update...but...bleh! (hehe)
