Ronnie -Try the following to determine where smells are coming from. Gerbils
normally excrete very little urine compared to Hamsters.
1) Aspen only.
2) Try a different brand.
3) Aspen in a cup with a little water and let it sit. See if it smells the
next day.
4) Try Yesterday's news or feline pine.
5) Check cage furniture, gerbils like to use smooth surfaces or can/tubes as
potties.
