My gerbil (Scratchy, lilac) had 2 pups (and might have more). The father
(Itchy, black pied) is still kicked out of the nest so hopefully she does
have more. Please add the 2 pups to the pup count.
My question is: The first pup that was born was cut on his nose! The mother
was making a nest and cut him with her sharp toe nail :{. Can the pup die
from this? It is deep enough that is bled a little, the mother is cleaning
his nose like crazy to keep it clean from the bedding, she's doing a pretty
good job too. But I am wondering if it will heal on it's own, if it will
die, or if I need antibiotics? The problem with antibiotics is that I am
worried it could get into the pups nose and suffocate it. What do you sagest
I do?
