I thought this would be a good time to tell you about how I started with
gerbils and got my clan name since Marley passed on.
November 14, 2000 my friends ,Lauren and Ashley, and I were going to a
store close by to get my mom a birthday gift since it was here birthday.
We have a field behind our house (well acually it is a detention pond,
but it used to be a field and some parts are still). My friend Ashley said, "
Lisa a mouse." I though it was a mouse sitting on the dirt, but there in a
box was a pew/rew colored gerbil. I said, "It's not a mouse it is a gerbils."
They said," How do you know?" I said," We have them in our science classes."
After that I picked up the box. Behind the white gerbils was a smaller
pied agouti one. I ran home with them.
Since, Ashley was the one that found the rew/pew gerbil I let it be heres
and name it. She named it Harley. The pied agout one as you all know I named
Marley.
Harley did die a few months later though. Since I had Marley, and he lost
his friend I felt bad. When I found out at school that the gerbils had pups I
was happy.
I entered a drawing for one, I was the first picked! I named her Kateela,
and I thought I needed a clan name. ( A few weeks or days (can't remember) a
signed on the GML.) I named my clan The Field Clan because of how a found
Marley. They were probably abused. I named it for him in his memory of what
might of happened to him before I got him.
