>Hi, > >my husband just came home with a Rabbit we are supposed to take >care of for a few days. >He is in a big dog carrier (the rabbit <g>) with no bedding >whatsoever. Is this okay? > >I have no experience with rabbits at all and was wondering if >someone could give me a few hints privately. Use the same bedding you use for gerbils...and the same feed mix will work for a few days. Also offer a few chunks of carrot, rabbits need the natural fiber. They will also eat good hay (timothy). Do not feed straw or mouldy hay. The carrier will work as long as the rabbit doesn't start chewing it up. Put a few layers of newspaper in the bottom, then some bedding. Give the rabbit a good sized chunk of pine to gnaw on, he might or might not. Good luck Deb Rebel's Rodent Ranch
