One of my gerbils seems to have a bloody nose. It isn't
bothering him, but I am wondering if it could be a more serious
issue. About 3 days ago, I noticed that he had a "chapped" nose. I
didn't really think much of it, as it didn't look bad and he didn't seem to
think much of it. The next day I noticed it was a little worse, but I
decided to wait one more day. Yesterday, it looked as if it had cleared up
a bit, so I left it alone. Today I checked on it and it looked as if it
had a scab on it and dried blood on it. I thoroughly checked out both
gerbils, but the only injury I found was the bloody nose. I haven't seen,
or heard for that matter, anything else wrong with him. Is this
serious? It still doesn't seem to be affecting him. Do I need to
help him? If so, what should I do?
Thanks,
Nick
BTW, I use a mixture of Aspen bedding and regular unscented
"el cheapo" Toilet tissue.
