It is the common English name "Willis".

The circle of Willis is an anatomical feature. It is a circle of blood
vessels at the base of the skull which ensures that there are multiple
routes for blood to get to the brain. Gerbils have an incomplete circle
of Willis and as a result are unusually prone to suffer strokes.
