I don't think mine are less active, but I've definitely noticed a change
in sleeping habits. They used to always sleep in a coconut cabana, but
now they literally bury themselves in the Carefresh that's in their
tank. At first I thought they had gotten loose, but then I noticed the
bedding shifting and they poked out from underneath it. It's really
cute, but probably a sign that we keep our house too cold. I'm sure my
mom would gladly turn the heat up if the gerbils would kick in for the
heating bill. :-) I don't think gerbils hibernate, though.
