I've got a mystery going on and I need some help.
I recently (one week ago) moved to a new home. The animals are now in one
room. The room was painted early last week, but the animals weren't put in
there until the paint smell was gone, about 2 days. Because I have many mice
and the general smell of mice, I've kept the door closed to nearly closed.
They have been in there maybe 4 or 5 days now.
This morning, I noticed one of my single male mice was very weak - shaky and
cold. Upon examination of the others, 2 of the 3 other single male mice were
showing similar symptoms. One other single male mouse, and three groups of
mice were fine. The gerbils were fine. After opening the door, opening the
window for a while, and turning on the fan in the room, the mice were better
within a few hours.
Tonight, Critter, who is just over a year old, is very shaky and weak. He
has his eyes closed and is just trembling all over. I picked him up and it's
like he's trembling all over and doesn't want to move. When he does move
around, he's shaky. His two cagemates (Finlandia - his father - who's about
1 1/2, and Dustin, who's just over 1 as well) are fine.
Any ideas as to what is causing this?
Thanks,
Emily
