Hey all..

Sorry if you feel getting OT is cluttering the list, but since it's
been rather slow lately, I thought I'd share this with you.  I was bored out
of my mind today, so I turned on the discovery channel and actually sat
through an entire Wild Discovery documentary on venomous snakes. -_-!!  I
watched as pretty litter critters scurried along through the brush, and poked
my eyes to keep them open as the narrator commented on how quiet and serence
and peaceful the wilderness was.. but alas, it wouldn't have been a snake
documentary if there were no snakes.. SO.. As a result, I got to watch nearly
seven live deaths of poor helpless lil' furries.. but kept my anger in a
frown rather than converting it into an animal rights riot, reminding myself
that it's 'nature's way'.
One of the "lil' furries" that was attacked happened to have been a
common brown gerbil (wild, obviously), and what a fiesty creature he was!  I
saw him creep from the shrub and approach this big python looking thing, have
enough guts to sniff it, and then jump nearly five feet in the air when the
snake went to grab a midday snack.  Little did the snake realize how
acrobatic the gerbil was (btw, the gerb looked exactly like a house pet..
just a little more 'built' and fiesty.. heh..), and although starving,
reluctantly slithered away after his 4th attempt at striking at the gerbil.
What a cute little guy.. and to aggrivate a snake!  Hehe, It was funny to
watch.. although he was looked upon as food, he kept coming back with undying
curiousity.  One thing that annoyed me.. the narrator kept calling the gerbil
a 'mouse'.  Guess I can't complain.. it was documentar! y ! on snakes, not
gerbils. -.o
