I've had a decent amount of success with dog biscuits for some of my gerbils.  They all seem to enjoy wild berry Nutrapuffs.  They won't touch the vegetable ones...

Dog biscuits work wonders as a treat for a rat.  As I said before, some of my gerbils actually like them, too.  The rats and the guinea pig enjoy treat sticks, but I've never given one to any of the gerbils.  They seem to enjoy getting wood chews more than anything.
