Put them in aquariums with wire mesh lids. Not even bitter apple
(a harmless but NASTY tasting stuff) will keep a bar chewer from
their self-appointed duty. As long as they are not able to leap
up to and hang on or near (like perch on the waterbottle) and gnaw
the top, they will not be able to gnaw the bars. :)
