I was fortunate enough to see Peaches birth her litter
of 7 last Thursday night.

It brought to mind some questions:
She seemed to be reaching beneath her and pulling out
the pups, is that what was happening? Is that
typical?

The father took residence by setting up his own nest
in the diagonally opposite corner, which always
happens with my dad's. What was interesting was that I
assumed this was because the mother drives him away
during the birth. It was the opposite, she had no
problem with him hanging around, or even mating her
between births. So why does he leave the family nest?
 Instinct?

Finally, is this a GML "record" for an Sp x Sp birth?
(that is both parent are spotted). Or have other
people seen litters of 7 (or larger) produced from two
spotted parents?

Thanks for listening (and answering).
