Hi,
I have a pair of gerbils that consistantly produces DPP pups. Mother is
sapphire father is Dove Pied. There is at least one in every litter they
have had. In the last two litters there have been pups with two spots and
one with a very dark patch on his head and two other spots by his tail and a
small one on his side. Is this a trait that can be bred for? The parents of
these pups are totally unrelated so by breeding one of the DPP pups to a
lilac or dove sibling could it be possible to breed for a gerbil with
multiple lilac patches?
