I still do most of my shopping in person, but do
depend on the internet to get books and pet supplies.
All they know is my credit card number (insured after
the first $50 of fraud) and my name and address which
is available in the local or national phone book, so I
don't worry too much about that side of it.
I do stick with the main/established chains though.
When pets.com went out of business, they filled my
whole order except these tough-top screen covers which
they credited my account for.
Getting stuff on the cheap from the internet allows me
to set up a complete, quality 10 gallon housing setup
and sell it with a pair of baby gerbils for $25. Then
I know they are living in the right environment. Plus
it makes it easier to place pups when people can get
everything they need in one stop.
I usually can get $10 off with electronic coupons
which more than covers the shipping, there is no sales
tax in my home state, and prices on the internet are
about 25% discounted. So to me it is worth it.

PS -- Catalog stores could be a good option -- can you
recommend any having good gerbil supplies?
