I'm sorry to hear that.. A similar thing happened with one of my mom's
gerbils, Miranda. Her first litter was 5 weeks old and she was getting large
again, then one day I found her dead in her kleenex box, with no sign of
anything happening.
We guessed it was probably labor problems, or maybe a problem with the
pregnancy that she couldn't handle. If she had been standing she would have
looked like the healthiest gerbil alive, she always had this really shiny
burmese coat. So who knows! Anyway, I hope you can find a solution to the
mystery.
