That was very nice of you to apologize. Hopefully we can all put this behind us.
However, I do have concern for the gerbils in mind. You obviously have your
gerbils best interests at heart, and I know you would do whatever you felt
necissary to keep them healthy. Putting everything else aside, could you think
about taking the advice of the GML members and try to weigh out your options and
see what works? If you really do care for your gerbils, I would think you could
at least try some new things.
If your gerbils are kept in the basement, as Dan said, I'm guessing you probably
don't have the space for them anywhere else. But I'm sure there's somewhere you
can put a 10gallon tank. Test it out. See if the basement gerbils are less prone
to pup deaths than the ones inside. Buy a new pair and keep them seperated from
the rest, and see what happens then.
And, above everything else, please keep things pleasant. As much as you may be
angry, or feel like we're saying something insulting (which I can guarantee none
of us are intending), try to see where we're coming from. We all own gerbils and
have a lot of concern for them, ours and others, and we're only trying to help.
