go to yahoogroups.com  and join [EMAIL PROTECTED]
there are a few peopel thre good with genetics.
you may also want to look at http://www.rodentfancy.com/rmfe
under STANDARDS theres descriptions of colours etc with the common genotypes when known given.  I assume if your familiar with gerbil genetics you should be able to pick up the rat stuff- just got to get used to what all the symbols are- theres many more in rats then in gerbils :)
If you join the RMFE club (the club itself not the yahoo email list which is open to anyone) theres a magazine with genetics/breeding section in each issue.

But I'm also looking for a rat mailing list...could any of you help me out :)

I'm trying to learn rat gentics and am finding it much more difficult than
gerbils.  But I'll give anything a try :)  Plus it's harder to find a good
rat genetics page.  What would be great is a rat gene calculator, just like
the gerbil calculater...that thing is a life saver for me!

Thanks for any info.
