Hi everybody from GML!

I have a gerbil home-page and someone sent me an e-mail asking if it's
possible to have gerbils living with other rodents. I really never heard
about it, and I'd like to know if it is possible, and if it is, with which
rodents, so that I can answer her question
    Thanks a lot!

There are none.

People always think it'd be cute to put their various rodents together,
and all they want to do is fight and kill the other rodent.

I have heard of cases where pinkie mice have been fostered
to a gerbil with a litter, and the mice were raised as/with the
gerbils....and that *sometimes* works....the gerbils and the
mice have to be raised together literally from birth for there
to be no problems.

Tell your friend to forget it. Don't even let the animals out
together for 'playtime' as it will end in a fight. And they won't
ever get used to each other no matter what you attempt in
the way of introductions.

Be safe.

I have had rats, mice, three kinds of hamsters, and gerbils,
at the same time; and I never ever let the different kinds get
together. Keeping them in separate cages in the same room
where they can't possibly get at each other is as close as I
ever let them get.
