Hey everyone, This is just a cute little happening that occurred over the week-end....being a new gerbil owner, things that may seem routine to the rest of you are still incredibly cute to me! :) Tinsel, our female gerb, takes great pride in her jumping ability, often landing on top of her water bottle. She'll usually sit up there for awhile, scratching at the wall until we come over, and then she jumps down again, looking very proud of herself. She's the only jumping gerb we have, and I think she knows it! Yesterday, I was putting fresh food in their cage, and turned my back for a few seconds, leaving the lid off. When I turned back, there was Tinsel, on top of her water bottle, completely frozen and staring straight ahead of her, with her front paws resting on the edge of the cage. I don't think she had expected freedom to be awaiting her at the top of the cage this time, and she had no idea what to do with it! :) So I scooped her up and put her back in the cage, and she hid in the nest for the next half hour or so. I wonder if I'll see her jumping again anytime soon? :) Take care all, Sondra AGS member www.geocities.com/prairielandgerbils __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
