Hi Tana,
Sorry to hear about your Spunky's illness. My guess would be an ear
problem. After a stroke, there is usually more distress than you suggest.
As you are already administering antibiotics, there is little more a vet
can do. The gerbil will be fine. The head tilt will be permanent, but he
will adjust and carry on life as normal. Gerbils with head tilts have a
normal life expectancy.
