There are no publications regarding e and e[f] yet, but in the next issue
of the Journal of Heredity (January/February 2001 issue, still to come
out), the following article will be published:
A second acromelanistic allelomorph at the albino locus of the Mongolian
gerbil (Meriones unguiculatus) by Fred Petrij, Karin van Veen, Michael
Mettler and Vera Brückmann
In this article we describe the coat colour mutant which has been known as
c[b]. In this article we explain (among other facts and data) that the
correct name of this new mutation should be chinchilla medium (symbol:
c[chm]), analogous to the same mutation known in rabbits (the sable rabbit
resembles our burmese gerbil).
