For my 10-gallon aquarium, i got an extra screen-lid (the kind WITHOUT a little door 
:) to use diagonally as a divider.  That is a perfect fit and you dont have to tape it 
to the cage--except it's not quite high enough on the top, so I taped paper towel 
tubes to the top with packing tape so it would be smooth and the gerbs couldnt chew 
through.
