After mating with snowflake, crystal got very nasty and she and speedy started fighting. Crystal's fanny and tail were pretty chewed up. So I moved her to her own habitat and put neosporin on her tail and fanny and let her heal. During that time I took crystal into a neutral box and tried to see if there was any one she wasn't fighting with. She fought with snowflake and I know that you can't put two gerbils who have fought in the past together so I knew  couldn't put them together. She and felix got along fine so they went together. I knew there was a good chance that crystal would have a litter and then there was a possibility that speedy and snow flake would mate. Not all mixed pairs will breed. So I was very surprised to discover that now I have two breeding pairs. It is just all so new and unexpected. I am glad I joined this list to find information about how to get one of the other gerbils in with crystal. I never knew I would need to breeding information. LOL, little sneaks. I figure that when this group is weaned, I will hav eto do some serious revamping of the gerbil environments. Maybe I can put them in the tanks and leave a set up for a play ground that they can take turns using as pairs.   I just can't imagine going out for a run while having kids. What was she thinking?!
