I have noticed that when my females have big fights, it always seems to be
when one or both is in heat. Anybody else noticed this? Too bad we can't
spay them! I just had to separate another pair as they were fighting
badly. One has been bullying the other anyway, then she went into heat and
it all just escalated into something ugly. They came very close to rolling
up in a ball, but I took the lid off and Aramina (the one being persecuted)
immediately flung herself out of the tank and into a bag of dirty litter
sitting by the tank! She didn't want to fight, bless her heart, she was
only defending herself. The last pair I separated was like that too, one
was being bullied and the minute I got the lid off and got my arm halfway
in the tank she was beating a retreat up to my shoulder. She seemed much
happier by herself at first, but I think she is getting a bit lonely now,
so I'm going to try and pair her with another of my single girls who I
think might be a little lonely. Wish me luck.
