This is what is known as a degloving injury. It can be used as a defense
mechanism in the wild, should a predator try to catch them by the tail.

It isn't serious- don't worry. You were right- in a few days time the
exposed bone will dry up and simply fall off. The tail will not grow back,
but it won't affect her mobility or balance. Keep an eye on the area and
watch for and signs of swelling and redness that might indicate infection.
I, personally, have never heard of anything serious developing from this
kind of injury, and she should heal up just fine.

oh my goodness everyone im so upset today i went to take naomi out of her
