Rarity depends on where you live. There is some info at
http://www.geerbils.co.uk/gerbils/genetics.htm

No mutations are endangered. There are significant numbers of al
varieties in various places.

There are several species of gerbil classified as endangered.
http://www.gerbils.co.uk/gerbils/species.htm lists all gerbil species
and also shows their Red List status where appropriate.

There are almost certainly more endangered gerbils than this, but the
species shown have had their risk assessed.
