The difference in dove and lilac

Can anyone clearly describe the difference in lilac and dove pups? Or a rule of thumb to follow? Both lilac and dove are possible for this pair. She has one spotted dove, and the difference is very obvious to that of a spotted lilac, however I'm having difficulty in deciding if one of them is lilac and one dove. The two are both the lilac color, although one is just slightly lighter in color. Just slightly, though.   They are a C C x C Ch pair.   Anyone have a picture of the two colors, perhaps? Thanks Sarah
