Wouldn't it be dangerous to give antibiotics to a gerbil who is pregnant?  I know in 
humans it could cause serious birth defects.  I don't know the effects on gerbils 
though, but I'm assuming it would be similar...

You don't even know if yours is pregnant, but I thought I should mention that just in 
case.
