I received a gerbil as a birthday gift and want to know how to tell what sex it is and how to tell how old it is. I want to get it a companion of the same sex, but need to know if it is still at an age where it will accept a new gerbil and need to know what sex it is. It has also been difficult naming it without knowing what sex it is. I don't want to give it a complex.
