placing

I know this has been discussed many a time, but I cannot seem to find
it...what is the best age to place pups in a new home? I was thinking
6 weeks on, but then I thought maybe it was 8. I have a friend who
desperately wants two of my pups, but they are only 5 weeks old and I
feel I should wait. Thoughts?
