small pup

Hi all!   After five healthy litters with 5-6 pups in each, our female Mini gave birth to only 2 pups 16 days ago. (Why this happened is a question in it self - seems very strange to me). After 3 days one of the pups dies, so that now there is only one. We are very worried as it doesn't seem to develop as it should. It seems smaller than it should (it is hard to tell as we can't compare it to other pups.) and not well nourished. I've tried to listen after clicking noises, I hear some, but not everytime.   Could it be a respiratory infection or is there any other suggestions?   As it is the first time we have troubles with our pups, we are very much looking forward to some answers of what to do.   Cecilie and Klaus
