Poor you... gerbil bites HURT, and burn, and throb...ow!
Some gerbils are just biters... it isn't nice for you, but imagine if you were that small and everything in the world is big and loud and *scary*. I am soo impressed with brave (or dumb?) gerbils who are full of gerbil-loving-ness despite how scary we are.
My advice is not to give up on these babies. Seperate them as soon as they are weaned, and SHOWER them with attention, treats, and, if they do try to bite, a water bottle squirt. Babies of rocket scientists have become tattoo artists, and the babies may be sweet, even if mummy is mean.
