Subject: Black Gerbils
A lot of people say that their black gerbils
are mean and aggressive but my male isn't. Do any of you think they are
more aggressive?
Now then, we will have no racist/coloutist
comments!
Seriously, there is no known link between colour
and temperament or anything else for that matter. However, I suppose if
a line of gerbils were very inbred then this could cause behavioural
problems. However, in this case it is unlikely that all the gerbils
would be the same colour as most gerbils these days are carrying all sorts of
colour genes. The only colour gene that has any known health effect is
the spot gene which causes slight anemia. Spotted/pied gerbils tend to
have more health problems than other gerbil colours.
