I have to agree with the comment recomending the Quick Quench/Lixit kind of
waterbottle! We have only one "true chewer" and he (Foxy) chews anything
that we put into the cage in a matter of minutes! He seems to think that if
its in the cage and not breathing then its a chew toy! But we havent had a
problem with him (or any of them with this kind of water bottle)
Plus I think I might be lucky cause my close friend has a job cleaning a
local bar and she brings me over the VERY THICK tp rolls :)

Buy the cylindrical straight tube water bottles with both ends
rounded. Brand names, Lixit and Quick Quench.
You need to hang it so that there is no way a gerbil can leap
up and get on top of it and stay there..because if they can,
they will chew the nub for the wire right off within minutes.
