I have had some trouble locating a good mite spray to have on hand in
case another case of mites enters my house. I did look for the mite
spray for ferrets, but did not come across a mite spray that had a
good concentration of pyrethrin in it. And most were listed as
"shampoos" or "conditioners".

I did manage to locate at a local pet store, something made by Four
Paws for hamsters and gerbils (a flea spray?), but it has only 0.045%
pyrethrin, along with 0.090% Piperonyl butoxide, 0.150% N-Octy
bicycloheptene, and 99.715% inert ingredients (I'm assuming this is
water!)

But could this possibly be enough? I did take a look at the cat and
dog spray (again, none said specifically mites, but then I wasn't
expecting there to be any), but was in a rush and had a cranky
toddler on my hands, so I went ahead and got the Gerbil and Hamster
Spray - I can always take it back.

While this store doesn't seem to know A LOT about gerbils, they are
pretty knowledgeable about everything else - even offered to let me
know next time a breeder (or accidental breeder) brings some pups in
so I can get in touch with them! If I recall correctly, the dog and
cat spray had a much higher concentration, and personally I don't
want to worry about not diluting enough, or diluting too much.

Does anyone know a place that carries {"For fleas and ticks on
ferrets", from Marshall Pet
Products. It has 0,35% resmetrin in it } as Sarah posted awhile ago?
There are a LOT of per stores here in Charlotte, and while I'm sure
someone out there carries it, I don't have the energy, with Jaz in
tow, to haul myself around to all of them, and let's face it, when it
comes to calling some of these places to find out things over the
phone, most are not that helpful. ("Do you have any female gerbils?"
- "Yeah, we have gerbils back there." - "Yes, but do you know if any
are FEMALE?" - "Oh, we got plenty back there, I'm sure there's a few
females." "Would you mind checking real quick?" - "Oh, m'am, yes, we
have some female gerbils." - Go there, look around, NO gerbils at
all. Talk about helpful! -- For some reason, most pet stores around
here seem to carry males instead of females. Petsmart carries
exclusively males, maybe they are just a LITTLE smart. Makes me
wonder where all the females are. :) )

For something that's mostly water, it seems rather silly to pay $6 for.

Thanks for your help!
