A mother gerbil does not "show" until just a few days
before she delivers (say at 21-22 days). Then she'll
suddenly look fat in the belly area and feel heavier.
A gerbil that is having a small litter of one or two
doesn't ever appear that much different.
You can look on my site www.abcgerbils.com
at the "Pregnant or Just Fat" link to see what a
pregnant gerbil looks like just before she delivers.
