I'm not too convinced, she isn't actually causing him harm.  It looks more
like harmful play.  They've been preening each other within the last 30
minutes or so.  I don't want to be arrogant but I haven't seen any
aggression out of them since that little outburst. (Which looked a lot like
the play fights that my male pairs used to have).

It could be mainly because the female has been kept alone in her own cage
for about a year in the local RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of
Cruelty to Animals for you US peeps out there).  She might be feeling a
little insecure?

As I've been writing this email the female has flipped onto her back and
he's preening her mouth area, which I'm assuming is recessive on her part?
