I just wondered if some of you could tell me something about licking sand.
I noticed that one my two gerbils (young ones, 2-3 months of age) do this
occasionally. A friend of me never so it with her adult ones.
Yesterday I got an email from her. She saw her new young ones in a tank ( a
group from 9) licking sand too.
Does anybody know why they do this?
All her pups and mine too come from the same shelter. Mine are both male,
hers are all female.
Is this normal behavior a lack of something (nutrients?)
