Cardboard tubes?

My albino gerbil absolutely loves her china pot that I've put in there for
her. I usually fill it with chinchilla sand, and she loves digging in it.
Once it's been emptied she seems to find it relaxing to sit in it whilst
watching her surroundings. It's the Rabbit food bowl style, might be a
better choice than tin cans ;)

made relatively save by using a fine tooth file around the edges I suppose.
However, there are far more easy and risk free toys that can be given to
gerbils for play things. JMHO ;;)
