It's probably just gerbil wander lust. I have several gerbils which will do
this. Mostly females in heat with no mate to scratch their itch ;} However,
I don't think you have much to worry about. It is typical gerbil behavior.
He's rather mild by comparison, many gerbils will stand in the corner of
their cage and continuously jump up and down like they are on a pogo stick!
